NIHEXIDINE

NIHEXIDINE

Disinfectant and Antiseptic For External and Intracavitary Use

Powerful disinfectant and antiseptic with bacteriostatic and bactericidal action. Very effective on hatching eggs. It is characterized by being very persistent. It has a strong affinity for the skin, remaining chemically active for at least 6 hours. Activity is not significantly affected by blood or other organic materials. Its activity is pH dependent and decreases or is neutralized in the presence of non-ionic surfactants, inorganic anions (e.g. phosphate, nitrate, chloride and other substances present in hard water), and organic anions such as natural soaps. Low toxicity. Non-corrosive.

Due to its low toxicity, its use is indicated for disinfection of facilities used in animal production: hatcheries, sheds, boxes, pens, feeders, waterers, cages, walls, hoppers, basins, instruments and fixed equipment. Routine use in dairy cattle farms helps to reduce the incidence of mastitis and other infectious problems. Disinfects milking machines, pipes, milk cans, milk tanks.
